Bertha Moving Away from Virgin Islands

As the British Virgin Islands continues to gets wind and rain in strong waves, the BVI DDM has just announced that Tropical Storm Bertha is moving away. At 2:00 pm the centre of Tropical Storm Bertha was estimated near latitude 17.8 north longitude 67.5 west or approximately 175 miles WSW of San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Heavy Squalls Approaching Virgin Islands

At 5:00 am the centre of Tropical Storm Bertha was estimated near latitude 16.3 north longitude 64.9 west or approximately 95 miles south of St. Croix. Maximum sustained winds remain near 50 mph with higher gusts. Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 115 miles mainly to the north east of the centre. Tropical Storm Warning remains in effect for the Virgin Islands.
